Update as of June 12th:

I received a call from Ford’s customer relations on June 10th letting me know that they are still deciding on whether they are going to repair or replace the engine in my truck. I reminded them that this is where we were at 3 weeks ago and I would not accept my truck back with a “repaired” engine, either it was replaced of the truck was replaced…the silence was deafening. I told them the I had been extremely patient, let them do what they needed to do to make this right but after 4+ weeks my patients was at an end.

When I finished the call with Ford a called an attorney and reviewed everything to date, needless to say he was very interested in taking my case and I told him I would get back with him as soon as possible.

At this point I was still pretty steamed so I decided to go by the dealer where I purchased the truck and talked to the saleswoman that I dealt with. She suggested that I talk to the general manger. I met with him and explained everything politely and calmly and asked for his advice or help. He agreed to step in and push from his level, apparently he can circumvent some of the processes because by June 12th I got a call from the dealer that has my truck. I guess the GM got things rolling and Ford has now agreed to replace the entire engine. I also got a call from the local dealership that Ford is going to make my first payment, nothing yet on reimbursing my out of pocket expenses…

I called the GM yesterday afternoon and thanked him for his efforts. Since the replacement is still going to take 3 weeks or more he is also trying to get Ford to replace the truck, hopefully he will succeed.

Here is a picture of the damage to 2 of the pistons, it looks like the one actually has a hole in it (sorry about the quality).

Thanks again for all the support,
-Allen
