Well Im running a non heated single tank blend of 40/60 WVO/ULSD. Ive had good luck with my current source of good quality oil. Ive been on this blend since march and have had no issues thus far. My current system consists of settling the oil outside in sealed 5 gal buckets for 1 week. Then I filter twice through a 5 micron bag filter. Then settle another 48 hours just for peace of mind. Then through a 1 micron filter. Then blended 40/60.
Im just worried about that word "shortening". It smells different and looks much more golden than my current good source. The stuff ive been using looks like dark beer but is very liquid even at cold temps. Ill have to try the fridge to see what happens with it.... I wish it were still cold outside to cold settle the fats out...
