hey, why not bring over the lupo also. It would be a perfect commuter vehicle. Especially in large cities where parking is a tight and with milage in the 80-90 mpg range. I would buy one in a heartbeat to drive myself back and forth to work. I also heard that a company in europe was retrofittling the lupo engine on a motorcycle. They are expecting milage in the 120-150 mpg range when they finish. That would be a great summer ride.
The only question that I have about the polo in why is it only a four passenger vehicle. I own a 1984 vw rabbit which looks about the same size as the polo and it is a five passenger vehicle. It seats the three kids(one pre-teen and two teens) comfortably in the back.
These would be great vehicles to have in the U.S. I read an article that staited that the only thing that kept the lupo from coming into the U.S. market years ago was legislation passed by al gore made specifically to keep these high milage diesels off the market. He had a lot of money tied up in big oil at the time. Now that he has gone green and vw has made these diesels clean. Maybe we will actually see these in the U.S.
