If you can provide figures I'd appreciate it, also axle ratios and whether mileage is towing/empty, manual/auto, usual speed, etc. I am told that a 7.3 will pull what I want to tow without problem (possibly up to 47ft trailer, 2 cars for track, maybe 15-18k lbs), but most of them out there are high mileage and pretty pricey still compared to a used '08, which I don't understand. Also, from what I can gather I should avoid the 6.0...is this true? So far everyone I have talked to except for one person has said stay away from them. Please understand I am NOT trying to start any heated discussion, just want to get as much info as possible. Thanks!

You need to search further. There are several economy related posts here in the 6.4 section where figures ARE posted. Many, Many in the 6.0 forum.
One thing you will need to do is look closely at what's being compared. Maybe you should start a specific topic for each model: F-250, F-350, F-450& up. Then they need to post what body style, trans & gearing, and a bunch of other stuff.
Its difficult to get a feel for economy by just saying "My 6.4..." vs "My 6.0 or 7.3" as EVERYTHING effects economy. Tire size & pressure, environment, lift, terrain, gears, mods, traffic, body style & length, cap, tailgate, etc. There are too many variables to just compare engine displacement.
