Do you think that this is deliberate. So it will be harder to say "Look as I am driving along this is what it says and instead force you to actually calculate fuel economy with math on a fuel that can be up to 2 gallons difference every time you fuel up?
Or is F***D just causing unintended consequences since they rushing out software without any real testing?
