spring question

i have a 2001 X. I've read and read the old spring posts but have a question. At this time there is about 2.5" between the spring pack and the frame, and the bump stops have been ripped off (from this apparently) I just want the front to sit back like it should most likely level with the rear. Do i need a set of V code springs? or will this be to much height? thanks for your help.
