You could try Bob's AC mod. (Dieselsite) But check the fan clutch too.
I have run both with and without the fan. Without, at stops/red lights, the AC would blow hot, but running down the road, it's cold. Mark, are you heating up like that? If so, then it's your fan. My 2c's.
