Black soot in tailpipe of V-10?

Have a 2008 350 CC with 5500 miles and if you stick your finger in the tailpipe you would almost think its a diesel, you can even see the soot approx 1/4inch up on the outside of the tailpipe...anyone else experience this? any ideas, truck seems to run fine and gets approx 13.5 mpg empty and about 8.5 with a pickup camper and boat in tow.... thanks for the help!!
