I have the "yellow" 12v 13 GPM transfer pump too. I have been using it to pump WMO through a 10u filter. The WMO was room temp or better, and thinned 10% wityh diesel fuel. The pump sounded a little slow, but it pumped ok.
diaphragm pumps are going to be the best for pumping thick liquids.
