Did you start out with 134a
when your troubles started, was the system charged with R134a or the old R12? If it was the old R12 stuff then you need to flush the old oil out and then use an oil compatible with a retrofited system. Also you will need to repalce the drier/reciever as it will have the old oil in it and will contaminate the new system. If it was R134a then there should be a sticker that shows the retrofit date/type and amount of oil and amount of charge in oz. If not PM me and I will look up in my A/C book and see if I can find the amounts.
