Environmental groups resort to lobbying and sucking up to the EPA. We the people have to overwhelm congess with hand written, registered letters with return receipts and tell them that if they don't make changes to the laws and kick the EPA in the tookus, we will dump them straight out of office in how we vote. Tell them there IS NO OTHER PRIORITY FOR THEM TO FOCUS ON. Tell them that oil is more practical than gold right now and as long as we can produce it, the central banks can't destroy us with inflation. Remind them that our national security and sovereignty is at stake. Send them links by e-mail to government reports on oil supplies. What Roof is saying about oil shale is EXACTLY what I said two months ago- That's an improvement over being a lone voice that nobody listens to....

"But my senator doesn't listen to me...blah, blah, blah." Horse apples- cry me a river...then buy some stationary.

My senator (Patty Murray), reads what I write to her and she gets out and acts on it, so much so that it's SHOCKING to me! I raised hell with her 3 or 4 times about veterans' suicide rates, untreated PTSD, and their health care benefits- and I'll tell you, she has called for the head of the VA on a platter and demanded substantial changes right down the line with what I brought to her attention. So writing works, and I suggest everyone do it.

Years ago, it was determined that oil from shale is viable at $44/barrel by using STEAM to leech the oil from the shale, so tell congress to bust Canada's nutz until they build the natural gas pipeline from Prudehoe Bay to the US Midwest-at a reasonable price and straight to the North Dakota/Montana border. In lieu of paying them in our near worthless currency, pay them in natural gas, because 3/2 of that shale oil field extends WAY into Canada. I suspect there is more than enough gas at the north slope for both countries to use it for oil extraction, and maybe even have leftovers to sell commercially.
