Bill
Well controls might overstate slightly......how about hinders? As my conspiracy theory expert clam says Environmental groups resort to lobbying and sucking up to the EPA.

Will you not concede that behind the scenes, these groups are basically threatening the more liberal congress members to not cross them?

To those that parrot "it will take 10 years" "it won't lower the price of oil one dollar" I say BS......nice spin!

Gas went up $1.60 since the Pelosi/Reed/Democrats took CHARGE top show the Republicans how to do it..

Now my good friend MackE-7 would claim it's supply and demand only. Sorry Mack I'm going to use you a little here to make a point. If is were ONLY supply and demand then demand must have gone up 40% since Pelosi/Reed and Move-on.org took over.

Fuelish Democrats

Assuming demand did NOT go up 40%, what happened? Well........once Pelosi/Reed took CHARGE the PERCEPTION was that they, being prompted by by the radical environmental groups would block everything INCLUDING alternative energy.

They have, as PERCEIVED and the prices have risen accordingly.

How have they blocked? well glad you asked.

1. They have blocked ALL solar installations on Federal property, for 2 years until a study has been done on the possible environmental impact of SOLAR POWER. So while Obama and friends are saying Solar and Wind, Pelosi and Reed are blocking the installation of large solar installations for 2 years. I'm in the solar business and this I'm SURE OF!!!

2. In December 2008 (coming very soon) the (ITC) (Investment Tax Credit) expires. EVERY attempt to extend or renew the ITC has been blocked by Pelosi/Reed. Without the ITC alternative energy is not viable.

3. Nuclear power applications being blocked? How about 23 applications for 34 reactors. again Pelosi and Reed hard at work!

4. Blocking coal our most abundant power!

In a report compiled in early 2007, the U.S. Department of Energy listed 151 coal-fired power plants in the planning stages and talked about a resurgence in coal-fired electricity. But during 2007, 59 proposed U.S. coal-fired power plants were either refused licenses by state governments or quietly abandoned. In addition to the 59 plants that were dropped, close to 50 more coal plants are being contested in the courts, and the remaining plants will likely be challenged as they reach the permitting stage.

Even when the voters want it!!!

Sorry but we do have groups blocking of hindering ALL progress EVEN SOLAR and WIND.

even Alternative advocate Ted Kennedy doesn't want alternative energy in HIS BACK YARD!

Ted Kennedy Wants Windmills Killed

The source of unhappiness is Kennedy's efforts to kill an offshore wind farm on Nantucket Sound. Cape Wind was to be the first such project in the United States and a source of pride to environmentally minded New Englanders. Polls show 84 percent of Massachusetts residents in favor. But now it appears that America's first offshore wind farm will be near Galveston, Texas.

Proposed the month before Sept. 11, 2001, Cape Wind remains in limbo. It's been frustrated at every turn by a handful of yachtsmen, Kennedy included, who don't want to see windmills from their verandas. Many millions have been spent spreading disinformation and smearing the wind farm's supporters.

The towers would be at least five miles out and barely visible from shore on the clearest day, but the summer plutocrats resent any intrusion on their waterfront vistas -- and, equally, any challenge to the notion that they control everything.

"But don't you realize -- that's where I sail!" may stand as Kennedy's most self-incriminating quote.

This VERY second Al Gore is on Meet the Press disparaging Boone Pickens plan of using natural gas as a bridge gap. He says we should scrap that idea and go to electric powered TRUCKS!!!!! And Tom Brokaw says nothing!!!

Nothing!!! If a 18 wheeler were to be powered by batteries ONLY the entire truck would be batteries and the load capacity would be ZERO.

Gore spouts nonsense and Brokaw sits there patting him on the back.

Sorry Bill.........the environmentalists ARE controlling congress AND the press is the cheerleader!
