Didn't know that Smokey. According to info I have the 235 can have a rim width of 6-9 inches while the 265 requires 7 to 10 inches.

You can call up your tire and look at the different rims with that tire. Also it shows what the rim spec is.
You are probably right although it just does not make sense for a mfgr to use the low end of the spec for these tires.
My 15 inch trailer tires are about 7 inches.
Maybe it is worth a measurement before buying new rims.
On my older 97 truck I had OEM 235's and replaced them with 265's but my rims were more than 6 inches wide. Never a problem
