Oh, come on Smokey! I know it's early in the morning and things are bound to stick in your craw at this our, but really, the right is as bad as the left. In the REAL world (not in theoretical political science), their extremes are identical and good for nobody but those in office: They are both about money and control, period. The current "conservatives" in office have increased government and spending more than ANY batch of liberals in the history of this nation. Just as bad, the current crop of liberals are for the most part, nothing but dogs on GOP leashes. That's one of the reasons we're in the mess we're in. Our lawmakers are a bunch of con artists, sociopaths and convicted felons, regardless of party affiliation and that's why they aren't getting anything accomplished.

All the alternative energy sources need to be pursued. Oil shale is probably an excellent source for the future. They're building windmills all around me as fast as they can. But right now we need to bring more oil wells on line to increase supply.
I agree- it needs to be a national priority like no other- except purging us of the poison of the Federal Reserve.

"Drill here. Drill now!"
I'm a hypocrite- seismic testing was done last fall 300 feet in front of my Alaska cabin. I don't want an oil rig blocking my view. However, I'm ok with them slant drilling from the pad 1/4 mile away.

Yes, I have an oil and natural gas well "in my back yard", and I can see several others out the front door on the ranch across the highway. I wish I had more. They make almost zero noise as they pump. A couple of times a week a man called a "pumper" drives a half-ton pickup out there to check on it. What's not to like?
