Most here would recommend a tuner over a "chip".
IF I were going to do it, 1st a good set of gauges (EGT, Trans Temp, Fuel pressure), next a SCT (pick your tune), then head studs & a trans rebuild. 4" cat back if you're towing heavy or at altitude.
But, for me, my stock truck is working fine & I have other places I'd spend that t+/-$4.5k.
