Pumping from the restaurant through a filtration system and into the truck has been the Holy grail for us greasers for years. You could engineer a system to do that with petro oil. Tough, but possible (I've done that type work). But, water in veg oil just behaves differently.
The best method so far is to use a centrifuge and heated oil to spin out the particulates and flash off the water.
As for the various kits, I have the utmost respect for Jason at DFA/Vegistroke. But, given a choice of running diesel or installing a less engineered but still functional veggie system, I'd go with what works and you can afford. Buy the best you can get. The other systems work.
Now, you may not get some of the same level of engineering and for sure it's hard to beat Jason's customer service... but there are lots of folks running up and down the road with other systems. They keys are adequate heat and filtration. The rest is just details.
Over four years ago I started with a Greasel system. I've put over 100,000 miles running on WVO. And yes, I've had a few problems along the way. But I've learned through each of them. There isn't one component of that original system left as I've upgrade each item. But, it worked. I just improved on it along the way.
Frankly, if I had to do it over again, I'd piece together my own system based on the excellent real world info available on this forum and others such as biodiesel.infopop.cc.
One other piece of advice... go with the FASS or comparable pump that is designed to handle veg oil. Also, don't send veg oil through the stock filter. It's too small and too expensive. I've had pretty well smooth sailing since I ditched the stock filter and pressure regulator setup.
