You shoulda had a new throwout come with the clutch. As far as the fork, I thought the superduties were notorious for that. Haven't heard too much on the OBS forks failing. But I could be wrong.
Yeah I got the same grinding at idle, goes away when I push in the clutch. Also cn hear it with the clutch in and coasting to a stop. It especially noticeable in 4th. Another odd thing is my speedo started bouncing around after I installed the Con O. Its been 15K + now and no problems. I really dont want to drop the tranny again!

Another thing, If you already had a SMFW, then the guy also ripped you off by buying the new SMFW from valaire. You coulda just got the clutch. I'm thinking you may have had the DMFW, and thats why your hearing the noise. I have the same truck as you and my original clutch lasted 320K or so.
