My dad works for a major city in Southern California. Drives a F550 to do his job, and because it's older it doesn't have the flash, but he was warned when this law went into effect that he can't let the truck idle. Given the nature of his work, I think he either might have an exemption OR maybe if he used PTO, then it's OK??
I never really understood PTO, honestly....?
BTW - the police don't actually come looking for you to idle. You're reported by nosey people!
