That's true; but the diesel is a $7K option on a F250 or F350 while the V10 is a $600 option. INMO, that plus the fact diesel is around a dollar a gallon more than gas and 15 quart oil changes versus 5 or 6 quart makes the V10 a bargain even if it gets a couple of MPG less than the diesel. I have had a Ford diesel since 1984; for my purposes I cannot justify the extra expense of a diesel in my next truck therefore I will go with the V10.
