Okay heres the hit: Oil filter full of steel and aluminum, oil bypass stuck open with metal, not allowing engine to start. Mechanics got this POS to run on 7 cylinders, code said no assist from cylinder 1. So I can limp this thing home and maybe let the dog sleep in it? I cannot imagine putting another such engine back into it... can anyone comment on what gas engine might bolt to the tranny? Buy a used engine, pray a lot, and trade it in? Does Ford ding you on these diesels on trade in? They must know better than any whats going on with them... Any thoughts appreciated.
