With some of the Roadrangers (which is what he has) you could dis-assemble the trans and "X" four gears, main shaft versus countershaft, and you'd end up with different ratios in the top couple gears. Without a shop manual stating what number of teeth gears give you what ratio, I doubt if anyone here, including my self, can be of much help.
