DIC = P0606
Circuit = PCED
Problem = PCM processor fault
Probable cause = Internal PCM failure

Cruising down the highway with my RV trailer, mine died. After a few minutes it cranked up and ran for another mile or so. Then it did it again. I was able to cross the barrow ditch to the service road, and made it to the side of the service road before it died again. So I called a tow truck.

When a tech informed me of the "failure to communicate", that meant the PCM was fried. The only alternative was to buy and install a new PCM.

That was back in 2004, and dealer (on the road, not my dealer) charged me $372.56 net, plus tax. You can buy one today from DP-Tuner for $325 with a stock tune, or for $400 with your choice of Jody's tunes.

Top Job front end replacement. I special-ordered it new and plan to drive it until it quits.
