1978 mercedes diesel owners manual.
-
At very low temps the fluidity of #2 diesel may become insufficient due to parafin seperation. If winter diesel is used, there will hardly be any malfunctions at outside temps reaching as low as +3 F(-16C).
-
Varying with the temp, add a certain quanity of kerosene,if only #2 summer diesel fuels or less cold resistant winter diesel fuels are available or if temps drop below +3 F(-16 C)
-
If regular gasoline does have to be added, its proportion should not exceed 30%. Premium fuels are not to be used.
-
Even at ambient temps of less than-8F(-22C) the proportion of supplementary fuel (kerosene) must not exceed 50%.
-
The adding of supplementary fuel to #1 diesel is not recommended even at low ambient temps.

Reference Table------- #2 summer diesel ---------------supplementary fuel
__________________________________________________ _kerosene

+32 to +14 F ----------------50%---------------------------30%

+14 to +5 F -----------------50% --------------------------50%
