driveshaft carrier bearing and pinion seal???

Noticed a leak from the rear pinoin seal. I have heard that usually this is a result of something else... So, I checked to see if there was any play in the rearend and it felt tight. However, it seems to me that the midship driveshaft carrier barring has a considerable amount of play in it. So my question is>>>? Do these seem related and how big of a pain is it to replace the barring and rear seal??? I am mechanically inclined but have never had issues with this before.

Thanks for any help in advance!!!
