Add "oil cooler" to your list. My 05 went exactly the same as yours...pulling the fifth wheel I could smell coolant. If the oil cooler caused the EGR cooler to fail, it is very possible with continued use (like I did) that the coolant gets sucked in the intake, and since coolant does not compress like diesel fuel, it ends up stretching the head bolts. I beleive, had my oil cooler been diagnosed properly the first time instead of just replacing the EGR cooler and sending me on my way, that I could have avoided the dreaded head gasket fiasco. Others may disagree and say that the damage is done to the head bolts immediatly after the EGR cooler fails.
