Pedal to the Metal no Ooomph
I have an 04 F250 that has developed a new problem. If I jam the accelerator to the floor the engine screams but the truck does not accelerate as it should. The engine also sounds a little 'off' when this happens (and I don't hear the normal turbo whine). If I roll on the accelerator it seems to have plenty of power but if I lay into it the truck falls on its face.
I'm not sure if this is related but I had the truck at the dealer a couple of weeks ago for an Injector Control Module and harness replacement and to repair oil leaks at the rear of the engine. I know the mechanic took the turbo loose because he said he stripped a bolt on it and had to replace the bolt. Is it possible that the turbo wasn't reattached correctly? Today was the first time I really mashed on the accelerator since I got the truck back so I'm thinking it's something that happened at the dealer.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be? I'd like to go back to the dealer armed with some knowledge.
Thanks in advance for your help.
