stock 05 how should it boost
I have been searching and haven't seen anyone explain what kind of boost you should see on this motor under different driving conditions, i just see WOT 20-30psi. I have a 2000 Golf TDI with a VNT turbo and it works the way a VNT turbo should it will spool up to about 18psi at 1600 RPM and keep that boost till red line. Now My stock 05 6.0 turbo acts like a non VNT wastgated turbo. I will read about 5psi around town and on the highway unloaded, at WOT it will slowly build boost as the gears load the motor to about 20psi. With a 10k pound trailer i only see about 10psi cruising at 60mph in 4th and have to beat the hell out of it to get boost up around 22psi. Still trying to figure out if the vanes are stuck or if this is normal. Truck never smokes and EGR is clean.
