We have have our own shop and have a 10,000 lb lift. I put my 2001 Crew cab dually 8 ft bed on it. Its all about finding the balance point. Also when i raise the truck in the air i put a 4x4 under the rear reciever hitch and lower down the truck a little bit to take some weight off the rear arms.... I have pics in my signature below of my trucks on the lift. Also since you are going to use it for your truck I would recomend getting risers that go on the pads of the lift arms. You need them especially if you have running boards. You can use blocks of wood but these trucks are heavy and can slip on the boards.
