A 10k hoist should be adequate if you promise to not try to lift anything bigger than an unloaded F-350 shorty.

But you're taking a chance with a two-post hoist. You have to really pay attention and get the truck perfectly balanced on the hoist before you raise it up in the air. I noticed they had the 2-post version for $2,049.

But for only $150 more you can get the 10k 4-post version. Your shorty with 156" wheelbase will fit fine, but my longbed CrewCab is too long for that one with tracks less than my 176" wheelbase.

With your shorty, I would save my sheckles until I could afford the 4-post version.
