I don't know why Ford changed the numbers around so much from year-to-year. It's very likely that your junk yard springs are V codes. The one thing that seems to be consistent in the 99-04 models was the V codes all seem to have had 'AD' in the stamped numbers, and the 99 model years were split like that on the ends. You may want to send a pm to Caryt and Smokeywren, they both know quite a bit about springs and might be able to help.
