I chose the DFA vegistroke over making biodiesel b/c it's easier to source/filter waste veg oil on long trips than biodiesel. Also, I didn't feel like turning my garage into a chemistry experiment. WVO is not that hard to source and filter once you put enough effort into it.
I just did a 4200 mile trip on only 15 gallons of diesel. I've been running the V3 for a short time, but can't say enough positive about the product and the company. I bought my Ex when diesel was $5/gal specifically to run on WVO. Go for it, you won't regret it. Also, they have a very active and helpful forum, so you don't need to reinvent the wheel to make WVO a reality.
Good luck!
