I know exactly what tube you're talking about. The Ford DVD calls it the "Idle Air Control Fresh Air Tube". This hose that I am talking about is the larger one that is above the crank case ventilation hose which does run to the valve cover. Both of these connect to the intake tube.
Edit: I just ran outside and took at aook at my V10 which should be the same as yours. It kind of u's around and connects into a large canister and then u's back into the top of the upper intake. This is tucked away pretty far back up under there. I just tried to take a picture but my damn camera ran out of batteries.
