For your engine to die the way you described sounds like an electrical/sensor issue, in addition to a lpop, cracked oil pu tube or failed valve in front cover.

I think we can prove the lpop by removing the plug on the filter head. Install a cheap pressure gauge and monitor oil pressure at that port. We cant measure lpo at the res because we know it isnt filling. So, fill your res, drain the oil back down to the proper level and try the pressure gauge deal.

Me thinks if you watch the gauge and observe lp oil, dies 10 min later as you describe then check your hpor and is discovered empty, then its not the lpop because we verified pressure elsewhere.

If its not the lpop, a cracked pu tube or check valve are the only other sensable failures, of which both requres engine removal.
