Time to get a scanner (or comp. program) need suggestions
I think it is time for me to invest in a OBD-II scanner or computer program and I am looking for some suggestion. Right now I am working on an 1997 f-350 PSD and a scanner would really come in handy. What is the cheapest piece of equipment that I could buy that will be able to pull codes as well as run an injector "buzz" test as well as cylinder contribution test. I know there are cheap code readers out there, but I don't think they will be able to preform these functions.
I do have a lap to and have heard good things about the Auto Ingenuity software. It seems like a computer program may be the way to go, but I have no real experience with computerized diagnostic equipment and need some advice.
I work on a handful of OBD-II vehicles, both Asian and domestic ranging from mini vans to large pickups. I would like to try to find a tool that I could use on a multitude of vehicles without having to invest to much in additional software updates.
Any info or advice you guys have to share would be greatly appreciated
