To some extent I agree. We should always stay on top of the fluids. But the bid rigs are using long life without a problem. I have been going through the same hassle on what to refill with after installing a coolant filter so I wrote Shell, Prestone, Peak and Chevron specifically about my 97 (pre99) Powerstroke. All of them said their long life product would be perfect. I also mentioned the 'memo' about seal problems and they said that Ford has no problem with their product
