Took mine in for the CPS mid winter and lost 1-2mpg also. But it is worth going in for the recall because it stinks to be hauling down I-70 with a goose neck full of hay and then you truck just shuts off...NOT COOL!
Get the fix, its not worth 1-2mpg's when you think about possibly loosing power at any random point, no motor=no power brakes or steering. Thank god it happened to me in a straight line.
