As I understand these Ford extended warranties, they include wear items like brakes and shocks the same as if they had failed within the 3-yr/36,000 mile period. It's not like some accountant somewhere goes over each item on the paperwork with a red pencil. Any item covered under the terms of your specific warranty is pre-programmed into the computer system. Have them key the pads into the computer and see if replacement is accepted or rejected.
