GM trucks cannot take the higher tunes on the factory Allison cause there only designed for around 500hp. In order to run the higher tunes they must beef up the tranny. The Torque Shift can handle up to around 600hp or so. I believe these numbers are correct but if not someone will correct me. The one thing i know for sure is the Torque Shift is much stronger a stock Allison. Allison however has plans to upgrade their tranny in the next couple of years. I hear they may be going as high as 8 speeds but not sure.
