Ya the turbine is in the flow and does dampen the noise some.
I think in the long haul the muffler is a better deal.
I did run the engine right after insalling the down pipe by its self. Would be great if I was still a kid ( Look At Me! ) loud. Running the plumbing out the back is better. I have heard trucks around here with straight pipes. From a distants it tolerable. I don't know what the in cab experience would be. (huh? What did you say?) loud? Long trip anoying? Give you a head ake?
Try it with the delete pipe and let us know.
