First tank MIGHT loosen some gunk. My truck had no gunk in the tank. I guess it all depends on your tank. As to better mileage, it depends. I doubt that if you compare the best B100 with the best D2, you will find any gains. Even the Bio people will tell you that the stuff has less BTU than D2. In my case, even if I had gunk in the tank I am find because it will gunk up the filter which is external. In your case, it might be clogging up the in tank filter. However, $2 a gallon, assuming it doesn't drop your fuel mileage might be ok.
