I am not 100% sure, but I have read that white smoke indicats air in the lines. I had assumed it was gas, but maybe there is a leak in the exhaust somewhere?
This weekend I was up at 10,000 feet and got white smoke on start, which I assumed was due to altitude/air pressure.
