Thinking about a 5.4L 5/6 speed F250
Im not looking to tow heavy or do too much towing at all really. I was considering a 7.3L, but I cant find one in my price range that has less than 150k miles with a 6 speed.
Im thinking about a 5.4L. has to be a manual transmission though. Im just looking for a RCLB or maybe a SCSB. I just want something reliable that can do some work if I need it to. Im thinking the 5.4L should be up to the task. I dont care much about mileage, my current Dodge only gets 11.5mpg. The truck would just have some tools and crap in the bed and maybe pull a trailer occasionally. I just cant justify spending so much more money just to have a clean low mileage Powerstroke when I can get a newer cleaner gas burner for the same money.
One more thing, why does the 5.4L sound so much better in the Superduty's? I dont know about the new ones, but the 2000-ish models the 5.4L has a great sound with an aftermarket muffler. They dont sound anything like an F150. Someone told me that it is the size of the pipe, but it almost sounds like an X-pipe like on a Mustang.
What is the difference in the exhaust setups on the F150 and F250?
Thanks for the help, and sorry for asking so many questions,
Joey
