The only reason you could halfway justify going with S&B would be that you buy it and you're done, whereas with the stock unit, you have to replace it and drop anywhere from $57 (cheapest I've found) to $85 (stealership cost) each time. Of course, how long does a stock filter last? Well, my truck is an '04 and I still have the original filter on it, going on 98,000 miles. I guess if you do a lot of off-roading, replacing the OEM setup would be a PITA to your wallet, but the facts are facts....OEM is made by Donaldson, one of the leading filter manufacturers out there, and their unit flows just as good as S&B.
My opinion, stick with OEM, even though the S&B looks cooler! I think that's what bugs a lot of folks, is that the OEM setup looks restrictive, even though it's not.
