I think you may run into some headaches trying to use the Excursion harness. The Excursion harness is more complex due to the additional accessories, so the connectors may not match up to the body wiring connectors on the truck.

The ECU/PCM programming is different from the Ex to the F-series because of the different body wiring and configuration. I think some of the powertrain configurations is different as well. The trucks use the rear speed sensor for the speedometer, but I'm pretty sure the Excursion uses the signal from the transmission tail-shaft speed sensor.

Maybe Mark can elaborate more?

Ford uses a different program even between the E350 wagons and E350 cutaways. I had a problem with my van occasionally going into limp mode after the Ford dealer re-flashed mine and I did not re-flash my Banks chip to match the new PCM program. If the PCM sees a signal it doesn't like, it goes into limp mode.

A re-flash at a dealer should not cost more than an hour of labor.
