Have you tried getting it fixed through the warranty?
I called Sony about mine but the guy answering the phone couldn't do anything for me since it is out of warranty. I told him that was unacceptable so, someone higher up the ladder is suppose to be calling me. We'll see how that turns out. The tv isn't as old as I thought, it's less than 14 months old.
