Good luck. I've had electronic items be 1 week beyond the 12 month warranty period and the manufacturer (Sony) wouldn't do anything for me.
It's for this reason that when I bought my 50 inch Samsung, I went ahead and bought an extended warranty. Hope I don't have to use it, but it is there if I need to.
As much heat as these tv's produce, it's amazing they don't go out quicker. Mine has been professionally tuned down, and it still uses close to twice as much power (and produces at least twice as much heat) as my 13 year old JVC 40 inch cathode tube tv used. While I love the HD aspect of television watching now, I've learned to take anything the manufacturers state concerning how 'green' their products are with a grain of salt. just my .02 cents worth
