Still nothing new. Under a recommendation to check the fuel delivery, I pulled the secondary fuel filter out, siphoned the bowl empty, and when the key was turned on, it filled the bowl up in about 2 seconds. At least to that point, fuel deliver seems okay.
The FICM replacement is interesting. Would the low voltage produce any codes...mine still produces none.
As far as adding any kind of aftermarket programming, etc...I still feel I shouldn't have to do that just to get it to pull 7500 lbs. I'd rather find the root of the problem and get it fixed. Towed the camper this weekend down to SC...I could run 65-70 on the highway, but the pedal was near WOT the whole time, and to get it to gear down at any speed above 50mph, I'd have to stand on the pedal as if I were trying to push it through the firewall. I mean pushing on it so hard I'm out of the seat. Averaged about 9 mpg towing. However, with some of the things that have been done...performance without a load has seemed to improve a bit. It seems to get through the gears quicker. Towing though is still horrible. With the fall season I was hoping to do some camping/4-wheeling up in WV....no way no how will I attempt to tow that camper up any mountains right now...it would never make it.
I haven't talked to the mechanic in over a week...he's the guy that hosts the Southern Smoke Show here in NC, and is the administrator at power$tr0ke.org. He's was busy with the show last weekend and I was out of town after that...but I'm getting in touch with him this week to discuss what the next course of action is.
