I tend to believe in the KISS method and this is a far cry from it, if they needed OD why not just a 4spd regular auto?

i WANT being a wise azzz-------------i believe i read its by the blower motor, the tcm wasnt hard to make, and Ford needed to do this,,as the other manuf had overdrives, and the idi is what was then. when the pwrs came out--they just put it in with the pcm---------it really is good, as you could acually put a e4od behind the old 6.9 dsls--just by getting the harness, sensors, trans, and tcm out of another truck,if you were so inclined--course all the linkage also--
