Have you thought of "stuffing" another 6.0 into your truck only this time get one out of a 2006 or 2007. At least you wouldn't have problems with the fitment.
I don't know if it's just me seeing something in all of these posts, but most of the drivers seem to have to go back and forth a few times (costly) to try and get things running back to normal. In some posts, mechanics have possibly screwed up something else while working on the original problem. This signals to me that although you did have something to cause a failure, it appears that the mechanics are adding MUCH more to the cost than anything else.
For myself, whenever I had a problem with my 6.9 or 7.3, I would take it to my Ford dealer for repairs. If it was fixed to my satisfaction the first time, it never really bothered me. If I had to back again and again, that told me that the "wrencher" really didn't know that much. It's these repeat "performances" that seem to give the 6.0 more of a bad rap than anything (IMHO).
I know that there are exceptions of faulty design, etc., but it all can't be chaulked up to that.
