On the FICM code....that's what I figured. I have verified that the no codes at all isn't due to fuse failure. When I had Autozone check it for codes, it didn't even connect...fuse was bad, so I replaced it. They still didn't pick anything up. But now it's been on the mechanics scanner several times will full communication, etc.....still no codes. Tonight I took it by and he pulled out the EBP tube....it was clean. He's talked to Ford a few times, but neither he nor Ford can determine what is wrong. His computer show everything.....everything being right at spec....all voltages, sensors, boost, etc. Other than beginning the extremely expensive process of throwing new parts at it (at my expense....out of warranty by 9,000 miles)....he just doesn't have any other ideas. So we decided tonight that we were going to hang up trying to figure it out. I'm not in a position financially right now to sell and purchase something else. We decided to order a SuperChips programmer for it. Any opinions on that? I have to admit that I'm concerned about "forcing" the truck to produce more power rather than it just performing like it "should"....especiallly just to tow 7500 lbs. I've heard plenty of horror stories of chips, tuners, etc., being applied and two weeks later having blown a headgasket or warped a head, or anything of that sort. I don't care if this truck can't smoke all 4 tires in 4-wheel drive....I don't care what it runs the quarter mile in, and I don't care if I have the slowest diesel on the highway....I just want it to pull our 7500 lb camper the way it should...with the ease that I've experienced in testing pulling the same camper with other F250's. I used to pull around a 3500 lb Ski Nautique with a 4-cylinder Toyota pickup....that was always a horrible experience. I bought this truck knowing it would be overkill for pulling the size camper I have....turns out it dang near the same situation I had with the Toyota pulling that boat. Now I have to chip it to get it to pull 1/2 the weight I technically "could" pull. Opinions? Advice on the tuning? Since I'll be boosting the power with an aftermarket product...should I also get some sort of EGT monitoring?
